ABOUT US
Mid-State Seed partners with leading international seed companies and some of the best farmers in the country to produce the finest soybean seed in the world. We condition, treat and package soybean seed developed and grown by our partners. In our Marshall, Missouri plant, we use the best technology and equipment to process more than 50 branded, identity-preserved varieties for distributors around the world. Partnership is truly our business, and at Mid-State Seed our entire team highly values the people we work with every day.
Our location is perfect for growing soybean seed, with ideal soil and weather conditions. We have more than 40,000 acres under production, and we’re continuously adding exceptional growers as our partners. With their help, we maintain excellent purity ratings in seed varieties and unbeatable quality, and we always deliver on time. Since we’re central to Missouri, located 90 miles east of Kansas City, our customers gain even more of an advantage through easy shipping access and lower domestic transportation costs to the state of Missouri and the surrounding states of Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois.

Our History
Mid-State Seed was incorporated in 1974 and later purchased in 1990 by Steve Blalock and Walker “Butch” Fletcher. Back then Mid-State started with just 2,000 acres, but over the years has grown with more than 40,000 acres now in production. We’ve consistently added committed, quality growers who take pride in growing the best seed in the country. We’ve also brought in superior employees, experts who care about the seed we produce and value our partners—our growers and our seed companies. We employ more than 25 dedicated associates, many with over ten-year tenures.
In 2012 Mid-State Seed, Inc. partnered with MFA, Incorporated to form a new LLC, Mid-State Seed. Mid-State will continue to grow this new partnership led by general manager Steve Blalock.
At Mid-State Seed, we improve our process year by year, updating our facility with the newest technology, equipment and safety features, as well as continually adding experienced, proficient employees and quality growers. We are dedicated to consistently advancing by improving our technologies and educating our growers—firmly planted in partnership.
